This guide will help you enable remote management access to the Zyxel ATP/VPN series gateways to be able to access the configuration menu from the internet.
Verify Management Port
Check the management port currently configured on the Zyxel appliance. To do this go to menu, Configuration() → System → WWW.
Create Service
If the management port is different from the default 443, a service will need to be created for this new management port number. To create a service object for the management port number go to, Configuration() → Object → Service.
Let's assume, for this example, your management port is 8443. Within the Service menu click Add to insert a new service entry.
- Name - Provide a name for the service
- IP Protocol - Select TCP from the dropdown (default)
- Starting Port - Enter management port (8443 for this example)
- Ending Port - Leave blank
Edit Service Group
To enable remote access to the ATP/VPN series appliance, the remote management port service must be added to the Default_Allow_WAN_To_ZyWALL service group. To accomplish this go to menu, Configuration() → Object → Service and click on the Service Group tab. Find the "Default_Allow_WAN_To_ZyWALL" group entry and select it. Click the Edit button to make changes to the grouped services. If the ATP/VPN appliance is still using the default HTTPS management port, 443, scroll down the list of available service and select it. Click on the right pointing arrow (➧) to add the service to the "Member" list.
If you are using a custom management port, select the service object that was created for this port number and click the right pointing arrow (➧) to add the service to the "Member" list.
