Firewall - LAN Port Mapping Zywall/USG/USG FLEX

In the following table you can see which is the LAN1 port (192.168.1.1) on the ZyWALL Series in default settings:

As we had a few support requests by customers not being able to find the default LAN1 port on their fresh USG FLEX 700, please note that the info in the quick start guide paper delivered with the device might be a bit confusing or misleading.

On the USG FLEX 700 the default LAN1 port is GE3!

You can always lookup this information for any firewall in the user guide under the section "Default Zones, Interfaces and Ports": https://download.zyxel.com/USG_FLEX_700/user_guide/USG%20FLEX%20700_V5.10_Ed1.pdf

So in case of having issues:

  • Set your computer to DHCP
  • You can try a port on the USG, maybe make sure to run "ipconfig /renew" after you see the link LED on the port going up
  • Check via "ipconfig" if you received an IP
  • If there are still issues, perform a factory reset of the USG to make sure it really is on default configuration
