This Guide is to help setup the AP mode using an NBG-416N or NBG-418N router.

First step you will need to complete to setup the router is to manually configure your computer with an IP address.

Assign your computer with an IP address of 192.168.1.5 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

Setup

Once these settings are applied open your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) and type http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar and hit ENTER/RETURN.

You will be prompted for a username and password. The username for the NBG router is admin and the password is 1234.
Next you will see a prompt to change the password. Create a new password and click Apply, or, click Ignore to continue without changing the password.
The next screen gives you an option to Go to Wizard setup or Go to Advanced setup. Click the Go to Advanced setup option.
Once you are at the status page click on the Maintenance menu on the left and go to Sys OP Mode. In Sys OP Mode menu select the Access Point option. A pop-up screen will appear letting you know that all router functions are being stripped away, all Ethernet ports are LAN ports and the new IP address for the NBG router is 192.168.1.2, click the OK button to close the pop-up.
Click the Apply button to save the settings for the Access Point mode.
If the browser has not refreshed with the login screen, erase the address bar and type in http://192.168.1.2 to get back to the configuration screen.
On the router's WebUI click on the Network menu option on the far left. Once you click the network menu you will have different options, click on Wireless LAN.
Make sure the checkbox for "Enable Wireless LAN" is selected and provide a "Name (SSID)" for your wireless network. Deselect the checkbox for the "Auto Channel Selection", this feature allows the router to automatically change channel between 1-11 to find the channel with the least interference on the 2.4GHz wireless spectrum. This option however will disconnect all your wireless clients while it selects a new channel to work on. To minimize wireless disconnections it is best to disable this feature. It is also recommended to set the Channel Width to 20MHz only. Using Auto 20/40MHz or 40MHz only will cause more interference due to the low number of non-overlapping channels found on the 2.4GHz spectrum.
Note: If you are in an area with minimal to no signal interference from other devices in the 2.4GHz spectrum, use Auto 20/40MHz or 40MHz only to improve throughput capability on Wi-Fi.
To add a password for wireless connections click the "Security Mode" dropdown box and select a security method, Static WEP, WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK. WPA2-PSK is the strongest encryption method, we highly recommended using this encryption type.

Once you have selected Static WEP you have the option to use a 64-bit encryption or 128-bit, the higher the encryption the longer the password.
WPA-PSK (TKIP) Setup
Once you have selected the WPA-PSK security mode please make sure the "Cipher Type" is set to "TKIP" and create a password under the "Pre-Shared Key" field. (Password is case sensitive and must be between 8 and 63 characters in length)
WPA2-PSK (AES) Setup
Once you have selected the WPA2-PSK security mode please make sure the "Cipher Type" is set to "AES" and create a password under the "Pre-Shared Key" field. (Password is case sensitive and must be between 8 and 63 characters in length)

Click the Apply button at the bottom of the page to save your settings.
Now that the wireless settings have been configured you need to setup the LAN IP of the NBG device. To do this click on the Network menu on the left and select the LAN option.
From the LAN menu you can setup the NBG device with a specific IP on your local network.
If you do not know what IP address is free to use just set the NBG to "Get from DHCP Server" so it picks one up from your router/DHCP server.
Once you have configured the LAN settings on the NBG router click the Apply button.
You can now change your computer's TCP/IP setting to obtain an IP address automatically now.
