This article describes how to store your devices system logs and monitor logs on a USB stick.
The configuration is the same on all of our security devices (ATP / VPN / ZyWall / USG).
FAT16, FAT32, EXT2, EXT3
Configuration:
Insert the USB stick into your device and navigate to
Configuration -> System -> USB Storage
Please tick the box beside "Activate USB storage service":
Now navigate to the following to enable logging on your USB Stick:
Configuration -> Log & Report -> Log Settings -> USB Storage
To check if your USB stick is correctly installed on your device, please go to:
Dashboard -> Extension Slot
You are now all set. All logs will now be copied to your USB stick. The necessary System Logs will be created daily and can be easily downloaded to your computer. The log can be opened with all common text-editors like Notepad.
To download the USB logs from your device, please navigate to:
Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> System Log
