USG FLEX - SNMP Settings and Troubleshooting

In this article we're going to look at SNMP, how to active it and how to do some troubleshooting if it's not working.

1) Make sure you have SNMP enabled

2) Set "get community" & "get community"

3) Make sure you have SNMP traffic coming from the SNMP server 

4) Make sure you have allowed SNMP from the SNMP server

Go to Configuration -> System -> SNMP: 

2) Set "get community" & "get community"

Make sure you have selected the right "get community" and "set community" for your deployment, for example: 

3) Make sure you have SNMP traffic coming from the SNMP server 

Go to Monitor -> Logs and search for port 161 in the "keywords" under "Show filter" and make sure that the destination port is 161 (IP-address:161) and the source address is the SNMP server:

4) Make sure you have allowed SNMP from the SNMP server

If you have a SNMP server located on the WAN-side of your router, you will see an access blocked in your logs under (most likely) the default rule. What you want to do is to create a policy rule to allow that traffic from the SNMP server (Configuration -> Security Policy -> Policy Control -> ):
