If users get the error message showing "internal database error," please do the following steps to recover the ZyWALL database.
Step 1: Prepare the console connection to ZyWALL.
Step 2: Restart the ZyWALL and control device in console mode.
Step 3: When "Press any key to enter debug mode with 3 seconds" displays, press a key to enter debug mode.
Step 4: Enter the command below to start the recovery process.
USG 100> atkz -u
Step 5: Enter the command below to restart your ZyWALL.
USG 100> atgo
Step 6: You will see the message "connect a computer to port 1 and FTP to 192.168.1.1 to upload the new file" displaying on the console. Now the ZyWALLs FTP server is started at port 1 with IP address 192.168.1.1. Set your computer to use a static IP address in the same subnet and connect the computer to port 1.
Step 7: Please use any FTP client and upload the database file to the ZyWALL, the login name is "anonymous". (This file is contained in the firmware package with the extension name *.db)
ftp> put filename.db
Keep the console session connected to ensure the default system database recovery is finished.
